Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 280 will be returning to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the vacant lightweight title after Charles Oliveria was stripped of the title after missing the weight. The lightweight title clash will be between Charles Oliveria vs Islam Makhachev.
Makhachev sparring partner Khabib Nurmagomedov was the undisputed lightweight champion. After he retired, Islam is the top contender for this title with 10 wins in a row. Charles is on 11 straight victories and the Brazilian will be hoping to reclaim the 155-pound division title after he was denied in May this year.
The co-event will be the Bantamweight title clash will featureAljamain Sterling vs TJ Dillashaw. Aljamain is the current champion in the 134 pounds category while Wrestler Dillashaw is ranked number 2 in this category. For the Bantamweight bout, former bantamweight champion Petr Yan Clashes will face Sean O’Malley. O’Malley’s height will surely give him an advantage over his opponent but Yan is a step too far with his striking skills.
The second fight will be in the lightweight category on the main card, and American fighter Beniel Dariush will take on Polish wrestler Mateusz Gamrot. The winner of this surely improves its ranking in the lightweight category and will surely be a top contender for future gold in the 155 pounds category.
